So What is this little green fairy dust known as Google Pagerank and Why is it so Important?

Googles PageRank is a mystery to many folks but it’s actually very simple to understand. For the sake of simplicity Google Pagerank is basically the number of people who vote for your website and how important those votes are. To determine how important those votes are Google assigns a number ranking system from 0 to 10 to represent the relative importance of a particular web page. From Googles perspective the higher the number the more authority that page holds.

How Do I see Page Rank?

There are many tools online that you can use to discover a web pages Google Pagerank but the one I use is a FireFox plug-in called SearchStatus.

Why Should I Care About Pagerank?

There are many reasons why so many Internet marketers obsess over the page rank of their websites. Let me rephrase that there are many reasons why so many Internet marketers obsess over the page rank of their WEB PAGES! In other words lets say you have a website consisting of 10 pages. Each page on that website can have a different Google page rank ranging from 0 to 10. Once you understand that Google pagerank is assigned to a page not a whole domain then it will become crystal clear.

Link Velocity is Very important for top search engine rankings, When I first started building backlinks to my sites I had no idea what link velocity meant. I found that my sites were just not moving and in some cases they were actually moving backwards in the SERP’s. Firstly let me briefly explain what a backlink is and why we need them…
