Why Should I Care About Pagerank?

There are many reasons why so many Internet marketers obsess over the page rank of their websites. Let me rephrase that there are many reasons why so many Internet marketers obsess over the page rank of their WEB PAGES! In other words lets say you have a website consisting of 10 pages. Each page on that website can have a different Google page rank ranging from 0 to 10. Once you understand that Google pagerank is assigned to a page not a whole domain then it will become crystal clear.

Getting back on topic lets list some of the reasons why Google Pagerank is important…

 • Higher Search Engine Rankings – SEO is an art there are many facets of SEO but generally with everything else being equal the higher the page rank is for that particular page the higher the search engine rankings will be for that page.
 • Paper Click Marketing – I have personally found as well as many other SEO studies suggest that the higher the page rank the lower you can expect your PPC Advertising Cost to be.
 • More Link Juice to Leverage – You see page rank flows into and out of pages, the easiest way to explain it is to imagine a bucket full of water with holes in it and all of those holes would represent the number of outbound links on a particular web page. In other words this means the higher the page rank of a page you own and control, the more link juice you can pass onto all of your other sites.

There is much more involved in link building but I assume that you already know that the more backlinks you get to your pages with your keyword(s) in the anchor text the better your chances are that you will rank higher in the search engines for those particular keyword(s). In addition, you should also remember that the “Quality” of those backlinks also plays a very important role. The higher the Google Pagerank of the page linking back to your site, the higher the quality of backlink . For example a PR 4 link could be worth more than 600 pr1 links.

Even though no one exactly knows the Google Pagerank value I’ve included a link below to an excellent table that will give you a very good idea of how many external links you will roughly need to reach a particular Google Pagerank.

PR Comparison Table: http://www.kenkai.com/google-pagerank-table.htm

Where Can I Get These High PR Backlinks From?

How To Balance Your Link Velocityhttp://contentgenius.com/how-to-balance-link-velocity/ http://contentgenius.com/how-to-balance-link-velocity/#comments Mon, 08 Aug 2011 17:12:09 +0000 wpadmin http://contentgenius.com/?p=341 Link Velocity is Very important for top search engine rankings, When I first started building backlinks to my sites I had no idea what link velocity meant. I found that my sites were just not moving and in some cases they were actually moving backwards in the SERP’s. I’m sure you know how frustrating things can become when things are just not working out.

Even though I had no idea what link velocity was back then, through trial and error I finally figured it out and once I implemented it in my link building campaign the results were excellent.

So What is Link Velocity?

Even though I had no idea what link velocity was back then, through trial and error I finally figured it out and once I implemented it in my link building campaign the results were excellent.

So What is Link Velocity?

Link velocity is the speed in which your site gains backlinks. One of the most misunderstood and important factors for showing Google that your sites is popular and worthy for top rankings is link velocity. In other words Google determines the importance of your site with your backlinks velocity.

Backlinks Velocity is the amount of backlinks acquired over time and generally when your looking at link velocity it’s probably best to visualize it on a graph. One of the best tools for measuring link velocity is at majesticseo.com.

If your new to all of this don’t worry because all that link velocity basically means is… whether your website is gaining backlinks consistently over time.

Another important concept about link velocity or link acceleration is if a site receives a ton of backlinks in a short amount of time and then suddenly no further backlinks are being built then your ranking on Google is going to drop.. That was my problem when I first started building backlinks, I didn’t have any consistency I would just blast massive amounts of backlinks and then suddenly stop.

Yeah! sure I would usually rank really well for a short amount of time but then when I suddenly stopped building links my rankings on Google would suddenly Tank Dramatically! The reason for this is very simple…

If a site gets a lot of attention in the form of backlinks for only a short amount of time then it’s probably has something to do with some sort of trend. Because Google wants to deliver it’s users the best search results for any given keyword it makes sense that a site will drop once the trend goes away. What this means is if your serious about getting your sites to the top positions in Google and you want them to stay there then make sure that you keep building links to your site at a consistent rate.

In other words It’s much better to build 100 links in 100 days then it is to build 100,000 links in 1 day. . .

How Fast is Too Fast?

Some people may disagree but there really isn’t such thing as building links too fast you just want your link building efforts to look both natural and consistent over time. Ideally you want to build an equal or greater amount of links to your site day after day from a variety of sources which is known as Link Diversity like…

 • Forum Profiles
 • Web 2.0
 • Social Networks
 • Do follow links
 • No Follow Links
 • Contextual links

etc…

Why Do You Need Backlinks?http://contentgenius.com/why-do-you-need-backlinks/ http://contentgenius.com/why-do-you-need-backlinks/#comments Mon, 11 Jul 2011 17:08:39 +0000 wpadmin http://contentgenius.com/?p=334 Firstly let me briefly explain what a backlink is and why we need them…

If you want to rank in the search engines for a particular term then we need backlinks obviously. Google ranks websites based on a few factors and one of the major factors is the number of backlinks.

So What is a Backlink?

A Backlink is a hyperlink that points to your website and if that backlink or hyperlink contains anchor text, (anchor text is just our keywords) Google will then think that our site or that page is about that keyword and Google will rank your site or your page for that keyword that it finds in your anchor text. For example anchor text is formatted like this using HTML…

Your Keyword

A backlink without anchor text is called a direct link. which simply looks like this.

Both anchor text and ... Firstly let me briefly explain what a backlink is and why we need them…

Your Keyword

A backlink without anchor text is called a direct link. which simply looks like this.

http://YourURL.com

Both anchor text and direct links pass ranking power to the targeted site or the targeted page but the link with anchor text works so much better and it takes a lot fewer links to rank on page 1 of Google for that particular keyword.

There Are Many Types of Backlinks Such As…

 • Forum Profile Links
 • Bookmarking Links
 • Article Links
 • Blog Comment Links
 • Forum Signature Links
 • RSS Directory Links
 • Homepage PR Links

etc…

Let Me Explain More About Forum Profile Links…

A Profile link was first made popular by Angela Edwards on the Warrior Forum. A profile page is simply a page with your membership details and a profile link is simply a direct link with anchor text on a profile page that points back to your site or your domain.

Why Do Profile Links Work So Well?

Because they are the easiest to aquire and you can find so many of them where you can place your backlinks on. The problem is if you do not own any of the automated forum profile creation softwares then it becomes a very time consuming process.

Fortunately if your already a Senuke X user this does all of the hard work for you automatically and you can even put it on a schedule. If your not a Senuke X user then I highly recommend that you grab a copy of this excellent software now because it will save you a massive amount of time and money for SEO.

Now let me explain the normal way to build profile links …

Here’s how it works…

The Normal Process to build profile links manually looks like this.

 1. You would visit a site
 2. Click on the regstration link…
 3. Create an account
 4. You’ll be sent an email
 5. You will then need to Confirm your new membership by clicking on the link in your email.

And then your forum profile is created. Now here is the most important part. Don’t start building backlinks right away on these forum profile pages. You need to wait approximately 5 to 10 days before you start dropping links in your forum profile pages. The reason for that is because most of the popular internet marketing forums are moderated by both their staff and members who are ruthlessly looking out for new members who are dropping links in their profile pages without contributing to the forum first.

So, if you want to be a Professional, you need to think and feel like a one.

Before we move any forward on it, let us first clarify that what kind of visitors you need on your site (which will create a foundation for you to become a PRO). You could set up a website tomorrow and give away brand-new Ferrari’s but will you be successful if the only people that you manage to attract to your Ferrari are 85-year-old grandmothers. I don’t think so.

Attracting visitors is not enough. The people that you really want to bring to your website or blog are people who already have an interest in whatever you have to offer before they come.

Now, there is one very quick and easy way of attracting pre-interested or

targeted visitors. You can pay to place advertising all over the internet and if you do this properly, you will generate plenty of targeted visitors. The problem is, paying for advertising can be extremely expensive, particularly if you are operating in a highly competitive marketplace.

To be a PRO, you need to have a look at the other option, which is to use tactics and strategies that drive targeted visitors to a website or blog at no monetary cost.

Now, you will often see this traffic described as free traffic but you should understand that in the world of online marketing as in everything else, nothing is ever really free. In order to generate targeted traffic to your site, there is always a cost to be paid, either in terms of money or the time you have to put in to make things happen. That being said however, it is entirely feasible to build a system and network that sends hundreds of highly targeted prospects to your site or blog every day at minimal financial cost.

Another imperative thing which you must know, in your path to success, is that you cannot achieve the desired results if you try to do EVERYTHING manually by yourself.

Honestly, without automation and outsourcing, it’s going to make your life much tougher. You should invest in a good software which helps automate some of your link building like automated backlinks and seo automation resources. As your sites start to make money, start reinvesting your profits to either buying more software or hiring employees to do the work for you.

Power of Contextual Backlinkshttp://contentgenius.com/power-of-contextual-backlinks/ http://contentgenius.com/power-of-contextual-backlinks/#comments Thu, 02 Jun 2011 08:35:09 +0000 wpadmin http://contentgenius.com/?p=191 The primary reason that most people decide to become online entrepreneurs is that they believe creating an online business is simply the process of building a website, and somehow, their visitors and potential customers will magically appear. Translating these talents into a web strategy however is a daunting task, and it’s no longer just ‘the next big idea’ that will succeed, but more the case that ‘those who can implement the next big idea’ will succeed.

So how does any of this relate to contextual backlinks, and what are they?

Contextual Backlinks are the most powerful type of link recognized by Google, Yahoo and Bing, and the basis of what most of their algorithms search for. They look something link this:

When looking for a backlinking strategy, it’s always important to remember the power that contextual backlinks have toward your marketing campaigns and how they can improve your search engine rankings.

As mentioned above, the main reason most online businesses fail is through lack of visitors and relevant search engine traffic. It’s not usually through want for trying though, and more often than not, most marketers are deluged with options and strategies that are either irrelevant or far too expensive. The ‘great ideas’ they initially wanted to market are swamped by the murk of quick-fix black hat methods or information overload from the 100’s of ‘marketing tips’ websites and forums out there.

These factors all contribute to the demise of most new online marketers – but what if they just cut through all the nonsense, and went straight to using the tried and tested method of Contextual Backlinks? After all, these are what the search engines are looking for!

The Private Blog Networks offered by Content Genius lets both new and experienced marketers harness the power of Permanent PageRank Contextual Backlinks, and utilize them to not only increase visitor traffic to their website, but also to help search engines index new websites, to provide a boost in search engine ranking positions and also to eventually increase their own sites PageRank too!

Once a solid platform of Contextual Backlinks has been established in a Private Blog Network, it’s then time to look at other areas you can submit them to boost your link juice! We’ve put together a short guide below on where to look and how to get started

Commenting on Do-Follow Blogs

Blogs are usually in the limelight as a favorite of search engines, with Google in particular providing dedicated search options for Blogs only. Obviously getting your links onto a blog network with your own posts is very useful, but what about the millions of other blogs out there that you don’t normally have access to? The answer is blog commenting!
Now before we get into this properly, let me state that I’m not talking about spamming comments here – that’s not good, and in the end will only damage your results when the search engines eventually update their algorithms. What I’m talking about here is well thought out, relevant comments on websites relating to your niche and keywords, using contextual backlinks in the correct context.
To begin with, you’ll want to find blogs in your niche that offer ‘Do-Follow’ comment links – these can be hard to find, and take time to locate, but with various firefox browser addons and specialized tools the process can be expedited.
Once you have your list, begin reading through the blogs, particularly searching for any posts that already have a PageRank – again, you can find out this info using various browser addons or additional software.
Then, craft your comments – try to make them as relevant to the content of the page as possible, and be sure to include a link back to your target website within your comment. Post your comment, and repeat the process again.

A lot of the time, a few simple strategies and pointers are all that are needed to start bringing in the visitors you’re looking for, and we’ve put together some details below to help get you started:

Use a High PR Site Network

One of the main secrets that the Top marketers use to bring visitor traffic to the websites and offers are High PageRank Site Networks. These networks don’t just simply create backlinks to your website – in actual fact, the power they provide enables website owners to swiftly gain ground in Search Engine Ranks and stimulate a wealth of traffic and visitors that they wouldn’t normally have access to.

The general principal of a High PR Site Network is to provide a venue for contextual backlinks. These links are some of the most powerful that Google recognize, and carry a lot more weight than other backlinking methods.

The Content Genius Private Blog Network

As mentioned above, access to a private site network is usually only available to powerful marketers or high earning web entrepreneurs, but thanks to the Content Genius Private Blog Network, you can now access the same power for a fraction of the cost! What’s more, we’ll even implement the whole process for you. Just send us the topics, keywords and links that you’d like to promote, and we’ll then craft them together into unique content and drip feed it to our network over time, so your links look natural!
If you’re still keen to try other methods for backlinking though, check out our other suggestions below as they’re bound to help!

Using Video Marketing to Juice up your Backlinks

If you use Google for search (and who doesn’t these days? J), you’ll have noticed that most results have started to also include videos near the top of the search page. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a video about your website or product there instead?
In real terms, it’s pretty straight forward, and can be done with anyone with a little bit of time. First of all, create a short video – this could be a screen capture using something like Camtasia, a video from your phone about your product, or even a song that you have the rights to use and a picture. Once you have your video, upload it everywhere (YouTube, MetaVideo, DailyMotion etc.), and include you keywords in the title and your backlinks in the description.

Submit your links to RSS Feed Syndicators

Really Simple Syndication, or RSS for short, is an easy and simple way to automatically spread links to your content throughout the web. First of all however, you’ll need an RSS feed for your website or products. Most blogs include an RSS feed as standard, but if you have another type of website you may need to create one. Once you have your Feed, start spreading it using services such as pingler.com, feedar.com or pingoat.com, and register it with the 100’s of RSS feed directories out there!
